A hollow right-hand point north of Punta Rosalillita, Puerto San Andres punches above its size when strong W swell lines up with the powerful NE offshores that define this stretch of Baja's mid-peninsula coast. Optimal conditions call for a solid W to NW swell in the 2-8ft range, light NE winds, and the point works across all tides, giving it a longer usable window than many neighboring breaks. Consistency is medium, so timing matters: the spot fires most reliably during the winter NW swell season when groundswells push down the Pacific coast. Intermediate surfers will find the most reward here, and crowds are only occasional given the rough road access. Bottom: point. Season: Oct-Mar. Consistency: medium. Pack food, water, and camping gear as facilities are limited to a basic campsite and the nearest services are a rough drive away.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Crowds are occasional rather than regular, partly because the access road keeps the uncommitted away. A handful of windsurfers share the lineup when the offshores are howling. Respect any campers who made the effort and drove out here, and keep the spot quiet.

Access & Facilities

The road in is rough and requires a capable vehicle. No formal parking area exists, so high-clearance four-wheel drive is the practical choice. Camping is available on-site. Bring all supplies: water, food, fuel, and spares. No shops or medical facilities are nearby.

Nearby Alternatives

Punta Rosalillita sits just down the road and handles big W swells with a more sheltered point setup. Punta Negra offers another right pointbreak option with good offshores early and late in the day when conditions align.
