Optimal conditions call for a solid W to NW swell in the 2-8ft range, light NE winds, and the point works across all tides, giving it a longer usable window than many neighboring breaks. Consistency is medium, so timing matters: the spot fires most reliably during the winter NW swell season when groundswells push down the Pacific coast. The road in is rough and requires a capable vehicle. No formal parking area exists, so high-clearance four-wheel drive is the practical choice. Camping is available on-site. Bring all supplies: water, food, fuel, and spares. No shops or medical facilities are nearby.
Punta Rosalillita sits just down the road and handles big W swells with a more sheltered point setup. Punta Negra offers another right pointbreak option with good offshores early and late in the day when conditions align.
