A pointbreak-style reef on a protected conservation island in the Banyak Islands delivers up to three linked tube sections across 200-300m of stiff-lipped wall. S to SSW swell at 4-8ft is the sweet spot, with N to NW winds keeping faces clean and glassy. NE winds chatter up the face and spring low tides flatten the ride, so timing matters. Intermediate surfers can realistically make the first two barrel sections, while the third gets shallow and technical enough to demand expert judgment on when to kick out. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: core southern hemisphere swell window, typically May through October. Consistency: medium, scoring around six out of ten weekly during peak months. The channel stays close enough to provide a clear bailout if a set catches you mid-lap, but the long paddle back from deep inside rewards fitness and smart positioning from the start.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

This is the most crowded break in the Banyak Islands. Long-range charters prioritise it when conditions align, meaning the lineup fills with traveling surfers rather than locals. Patience and rotation awareness help. Dawn sessions before charter guests are briefed can offer a quieter window.

Access & Facilities

No parking, no facilities. Access is by boat only, typically from a liveaboard charter or island transfer. Bring everything you need, including water, wax, and a spare leash. The conservation island status means no onshore infrastructure.

Nearby Alternatives

When Treasure Island is blown out by NE wind or the swell drops, Minis further inside the bay offers a shorter, more forgiving right with a workable face on larger swells. The outside Indicator reefs fire barrel-heavy rides for experts only when the main peak is maxing out.
