A predictable, peeling left that rewards rhythm and flow rather than power, Dindos sits inside a sheltered bay in the Banyak Islands, Indonesia. It needs SW to W swell to penetrate the bay, clean up best under NE to SE winds, and handles most tide stages though higher tides smooth out the inside section over the lumpy coral. The wave suits intermediates looking for long walls to link turns, and it draws a regular crowd precisely because it delivers when the heavier options nearby are too much to handle. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: SW swell season. Consistency: high, more so than Lolok but less than Gunturs. Two reef camps sit directly in front of the break, making it an easy paddle-out and a default choice when Lolok and Gunturs are firing and out of reach for average surfers.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Dindos fills up fast when Lolok and Gunturs are pumping and beyond most surfers' skill range. The convenience of the reef camps directly in front means it pulls steady traffic from intermediate surfers on boats in the area. Localism is minimal in the Banyak context, but the lineup can get busy in peak season. Early starts before the boat crews mobilize are worthwhile.

Access & Facilities

Access is by boat only. No parking, no facilities. You will need to be staying on a liveaboard or at one of the reef camps nearby. Bring your own water and supplies. No pollution concerns, but watch the ragged inside reef on low tide, especially during spring tides.

Nearby Alternatives

When Dindos goes flat or too small, Gunturs just up the bay offers a punchier right that scales up impressively with size. Lolok Point, nearby, produces left barrels for advanced surfers ready to step up.
