Boat access and genuine solitude define Pulau Pisang, a twin-faced reef off the Lampung coast that rewards the effort with fast, hollow waves on both sides of the island. The right runs long and fast along the reef line, hugging the shelf before getting progressively shallow and boily, exit before the sudden shut-down section or you will be punished. The left on the west side is a different beast: super-sucky barrels that demand speed and commitment from the moment you drop in. Both waves favour NW offshore winds, with the right getting a particular edge during the off-season W wind window. S to SW swell in the 5-10ft range is the target, with mid to high tide keeping the submerged reef rideable. The paddle-out is irrelevant since access is by boat from Tembakak, meaning you arrive where you need to be. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: austral winter S swell months. Consistency: medium at best, as trade winds regularly destroy the surface. Most crews opt for nearby Jenny's rather than paying for the boat, so when you do make the crossing, expect solo sessions or close to it.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

One of the least-surfed waves in the Krui zone. The boat logistics filter out all but the committed, and most travelling surfers choose Jenny's instead. Solo sessions with your crew are the norm. No localism pressure reported, but respect the effort everyone made to get out there.

Access & Facilities

Boat access only from Tembakak, there is no parking, no facilities, and no shortcut. Bring everything you need: water, food, and spare fins. Reef hazards demand booties consideration and a board with volume enough to generate speed on the left. There is nothing onshore.

Nearby Alternatives

When Pulau Pisang isn't working or the boat cost isn't justified, Jenny's offers fun, chilled-out rights in W to N wind with easier access to the north of Krui. Ujung Bocor to the south is the main hub for travelling surfers in the region and handles a wider swell and wind range.
