A super-fun right-hander tucked on the opposite side of the sandy bay from G-Land's main break, Tiger Tracks Rights rewards regular footers with hard turns and the occasional barrel over a submerged reef. It picks up S to W swells from 2ft and holds up to around 6ft plus, with an offshore easterly keeping faces clean. Critically, the reef exposes from mid tide down, so the two hours either side of high tide is the only workable window. Intermediate surfers will find it forgiving compared to nearby G-Land, and the lineup rarely gets heavy. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: Apr-Oct dry season, best on solid S swell pulses. Consistency: medium. Get there either by a 20-minute drive from the G-Land camps or an hour's walk along the beach, and plan your session tightly around the tide to avoid the dry-reef exit.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Crowds are rarely a problem here. A handful of local kids frequent the break and they're reportedly easygoing. Being a 20-minute drive or an hour's walk from the G-Land camps filters out the casual crowd significantly. Show respect to the local crew and you'll have an uncomplicated session.

Access & Facilities

There is no parking and no facilities at the break itself. Access is either via a 20-minute drive from the G-Land surf camps or an hour-long walk along the beach. The spot sits roughly 200m east of the Tiger Tracks peak across the channel. Bring water, wax, and a reef-aware first-aid kit. No pollution concerns noted, but reef shoes for the exit at anything below high tide are strongly advised.

Nearby Alternatives

When Tiger Tracks Rights is too small or the tide is wrong, the nearby Tiger Tracks Lefts offers an assertive left-hander that walls and occasionally barrels. Twenty minutes further north, 20/20s breaks through a gap in the fringing reef and handles smaller swells. G-Land itself remains the area's dominant wave when the swell is pumping.
