W and NW winds are offshore, glassy early mornings in the dry season can offer windows before the breeze swings. Low to mid tide is optimal. Intermediate to advanced surfers only. Expect a local crew the moment it switches on. Bottom: sharp, shallow reef. Season: October-April. Consistency: medium. Bring a spare board because the dredging entry section over shallow coral is unforgiving on equipment and bodies alike.

When Sri Lanka is too small or too crowded, the Nusa Dua area offers a fast right and a shallow left off the nearby reef corners around the two islands. Nusa Dua main break handles more size and is worth checking if the swell is building.
