A punchy reef right breaks a 10-minute paddle off Porto de Galinhas harbour, offering glassy morning barrels over a shallow outside reef on E to S swell. Best in the 3-8ft range, it works from mid tide and favours westerly offshores that clean up the face. An occasional left peels from the same peak, though the right is the main event. Beachbreak peaks at Borete, right in town, fill in on smaller days and tend to run emptier than the offshore reef. The wider Porto de Galinhas area is a high-traffic resort with over 60 pousadas, so crowds can build on weekends, but the paddle distance to the outside reef filters some of the pressure.
