Weekday and weekend crowd levels are both rated empty by local accounts, but that masks a real tension. Mornings are genuinely mellow. Fernando de Noronha is a protected island archipelago off the northeast coast of Brazil, reached by flight from Recife or Natal. An environmental preservation fee is charged on arrival. Cacimba do Padre is the island's most well-known wave and handles larger SW swells with more consistent barrels. Other exposed stretches of the island's coast pick up different swell windows and are worth scouting on foot.
