A miles-long sandy beachbreak on the New Hampshire coast, Seabrook Beach runs south from the Hampton River jetty all the way to Salisbury Beach, offering consistent peaks when hurricane swells or Nor'easters push energy into the region. Works best on SW to SE swell from 3-8ft, with low to mid tide pulling out the better sandbars, particularly near the jetty where a mini-point setup can form. Offshore winds out of the W to NW clean it up. The wave lacks the punch of nearby Hampton Wall or Rye Rocks, which makes it genuinely approachable for intermediates and beginners logging time without pressure. Crowds are rare. Bottom: sand. Season: fall through winter on Nor'easters, late summer on hurricane swell. Consistency: moderate to low. Access is the main friction here: residential parking fills fast in summer, and beach access runs through narrow boardwalk paths cut between private homes into the dunes, so time your visit for off-season or a weekday to avoid any access headaches.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekdays and off-season it can be just you and a few seagulls. Summer brings beach crowds and parking enforcement, and guards limit beach access during peak hurricane season. Localism is low, but the note to be respectful of "local bubbas" stands. Keep it civil and this spot stays easy.

Access & Facilities

Access runs through narrow boardwalk paths between private residential properties along the dune line. Summer parking is genuinely difficult without knowing a resident. From Labor Day through Memorial Day, enforcement relaxes significantly. No dedicated surf facilities on-site. Hampton Beach is minutes north for food, gear, and hot chowder post-session. Budget seasonal rentals exist nearby for multi-day winter missions.

Nearby Alternatives

When Seabrook is flat or blown out, head north to Hampton Beach and The Wall for more consistent peaks and better swell exposure. Rye Rocks a few miles further north offers a different bottom and more powerful wave on the same swell window.
