A sand-bottom right-hand point roughly 25 minutes by tuk-tuk from Arugam Bay, Peanut Farm strings together three distinct 100m-plus sections that can link into a single 300-yard ride when the sand is sitting right. It needs SE to S swell and SW to W winds to fire, and works across all tides, though high tide on small days flattens into a frustrating shorebreak. The outer point fires fast with a steep barrel section before easing into a mellow sandy bay, the inside rocks produce slower, fatter rights on small swells and honest intermediate waves at head-high. Beginners will find the beachbreak crumbling and forgiving, while the main point demands respect from experienced surfers only given the steep drop over rocks. Bottom: sand over rock. Season: May to October. Consistency: high. Bring food and water because there are zero facilities, and watch for elephants on the beach.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Beachbreak mornings get busy as surf school fleets arrive by tuk-tuk from A-Bay. The points stay comparatively quiet because most beginners stay on the sand. Vibe is welcoming and mellow, but give the outer point its due respect: on bigger days it belongs to surfers who can handle a steep, rocky take-off.

Access & Facilities

No facilities at all. Bring your own food, water, and sun protection. Access is a long walk from Panama or a 4WD track, which keeps casual traffic low. Jellyfish can be present in the water. Elephants genuinely wander this beach, especially at dawn and dusk.

Nearby Alternatives

Arugam Bay Main Point, a 500m-plus peeling right, is the go-to when Peanut Farm is too small or too sanded-out. Whisky Point is a mellow, rolling alternative for beginners and improvers when A-Bay crowds peak.
