A long boulder pointbreak on Norway's Jæren coast, Point Perfect earns its name only when a clean SW swell wraps down the rock-studded point and links into slow, workable walls with cutback shoulders stretching 200-500m. Offshore winds blow from the NE, and the break handles a bit of N wind, giving it usable days when exposed beachbreaks nearby are blown out. It picks up other swells from S through NW but only links up properly on SW, so check the forecast carefully before the drive. At 2-8ft it suits intermediates looking for long rides rather than tube hunting, and crowds stay moderate given the region's sparse population. Bottom: boulder point. Season: autumn and winter. Consistency: medium. Bring a 5/4 plus booties and gloves for the cold North Sea water, and arrive at dawn to maximise your window before any onshore flow builds.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Crowds appear sometimes, typical for a quality wave in a thinly populated region. The Jæren coast has several spots so the lineup tends to self-distribute. Respect applies regardless: regional surfers have limited options and put in long sessions in cold water to keep surf culture alive here.

Access & Facilities

No parking or facilities are listed at the spot itself, so come self-sufficient with water, food, and a full change of warm dry clothes. The Orre area is accessible by road along the Jæren coast south of Stavanger. Water quality is listed as no concerns.

Nearby Alternatives

When SW swell is too small or the angle is off, the Jæren coast offers several beachbreak and reef options including spots near Bore and Kvassheim. Together with Piggy, Kvassheim is considered the the Jæren region for fast, punchy performance walls when the swell is up.
