A sheltered reef peak on the southeast coast of Nias, Hiliduha (also called Dipi) delivers sucky, committed tubes when a solid S to SW swell fills in. Afternoons tend to be the cleaner session, with NW offshores grooming the face and the bay geometry providing some shelter from morning chop. Works across all tides, though expect the barrel to get heavier and more consequential as size pushes toward the upper end of its 3-10ft range. Expert-only: the submerged reef punishes hesitation, and this is not a wave for surfers still dialing in tube riding. Crowds are rarely an issue. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: southern hemisphere swell season, May through October. Consistency: medium. Check it on the way to or from Rock Star, roughly 10km north of Teluk Dalam harbour, and you can easily combine both spots in a single run if conditions cooperate.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Localism is not reported as a major factor here, and the lineup is rarely crowded. That said, the expert-level difficulty is its own filter. Bring the right equipment and the right experience, and the peak is yours to share with a handful of traveling surfers at most.

Access & Facilities

No parking or facilities on site. The spot sits in front of the village of Hilisataro on the southeast coast of Nias. Coordinate transport from Teluk Dalam or Lagundri Bay. There are no hazards or pollution concerns flagged, but submerged reef demands reef booties and a helmet is worth considering at size.

Nearby Alternatives

Rock Star, roughly 10km north of Teluk Dalam, is a swift, sucky reef worth checking on the same run. When Lagundri Bay's Point is firing and crowds are heavy, Hiliduha offers a quieter expert option without a long detour.
