A sheltered Mediterranean beach break near Six-Fours-les-Plages, Fabregas picks up south and southeast swells that funnel into the bay and produce punchy, short-period peaks across a sandy bottom. It needs at least 1 to 1.5m of swell to get going, and when it does it delivers rides in the 50 to 150m range with a playful, forgiving character that suits intermediates well. Wind is critical here: offshore conditions come from the north, while the dominant Mediterranean mistral can switch the lineup fast. Crowds are light on both weekdays and weekends, making it an honest alternative when busier stretches of the Var coast are packed out. Bottom: sand. Season: autumn and winter swells, roughly October through March, give the best consistency. Consistency: moderate, Mediterranean swell windows are short. Arrive early after a storm depression tracks across the Gulf of Lion for the cleanest conditions before onshore sea breezes fill in.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The lineup is relaxed. Reports indicate few surfers on both weekdays and weekends, which is rare for the Marseille-Toulon corridor. Low-key localism, but standard lineup etiquette applies. Autumn mornings before the mistral builds are your best window for a session to yourself.

Access & Facilities

Head to Six-Fours-les-Plages from Toulon, follow signs toward Les Sablettes beach, then turn toward Fabregas. The area has basic coastal facilities. Check local swell forecasts carefully given the Mediterranean's fickle swell generation.

Nearby Alternatives

Les Sablettes beach nearby catches similar swell angles and is worth checking if Fabregas is closing out. Further west toward Marseille, spots along the Calanques coastline can produce rideable surf on bigger south swells, though access varies.
