A car park sits close to the beach, and there are camping facilities nearby. Water quality is rated as commercially polluted, standard for this stretch of industrial north Portugal coast, so check conditions after rainfall. Bring your own water and food, or head into town.
Azurara beach just to the south offers mediocre but more consistent beachbreak peaks when the reef at Vila do Conde is not cooperating. Mindelo, a short drive away, has hollow A-frame peaks that come alive when the north wind drops, giving more options on the same swell.
