A remote stretch of sand on Baja California Sur's Pacific coast, Beachbreak delivers punchy beach peaks that can fire on smaller days, particularly when multiple swells stack up simultaneously. SW, SSW, S, SE, W, and WNW swells all feed this stretch, with NE or E winds keeping faces clean. It handles chest-high to overhead surf well but closes out hard above double overhead, so timing matters. The lineup suits everyone from beginners to advanced surfers willing to read shifting peaks, and crowds are essentially nonexistent out here. Bottom: sand. Season: June through November. Consistency: moderate, swell-dependent. Four-wheel drive and camping gear are non-negotiable for access, and driving on the sand is a common mistake that gets people badly stuck. Rips run through the break and isolation is real, so come self-sufficient with water, food, and a solid tow strap.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Crowds are minimal to nonexistent. The remoteness of this stretch filters out most surfers, and the vibe is welcoming when others do show up. Dawn patrol is not necessary here for positioning, but the solitude is part of the deal.

Access & Facilities

Reach this via 4WD on rough Baja dirt roads. No facilities, no water, no food, no rentals. Camp self-contained and bring everything you need. Driving on the beach looks tempting but has claimed plenty of vehicles. Rips and isolation are the primary hazards. Water quality is fair with occasional muck.

Nearby Alternatives

When this stretch closes out in bigger swells, scout the surrounding Baja coastline for more protected coves or point setups that handle size better. The region rewards exploratory driving and patience.
