Solemar is a sandsanbar beach break in the Jacaraípe neighborhood of Serra, Espírito Santo, producing fun, relatively powerless peaks across a wide range of conditions. It picks up small swells from under 1m and can hold faces up to 2m-plus, with rides stretching 150-300m on better days. Offshore winds from the W to SW tidy up the peaks, and the break works across all tides, giving it solid consistency for the region. Surfers of all levels can get waves here, but the lineup gets competitive on weekends when crowds reach ultra-crowded levels. Bottom: sand. Season: year-round. Consistency: reliable in small to medium swell. One critical warning: Jacaraípe carries a serious reputation for theft and personal safety risks, so leave valuables locked away and avoid leaving gear unattended at the car or on the beach.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekday sessions are crowded, weekends get ultra-crowded. The lineup skews toward local regulars and the crowd pressure is real. Paddle out with respect, read the pecking order early, and avoid burning anyone. Dawn patrol on weekdays gives you the best chance at uncrowded peaks.

Access & Facilities

Drive into the Jacaraípe neighborhood in Serra and follow the beachfront road past the first headland known as Barrote. Solemar sits just beyond. Security is a genuine concern in this area. Do not leave valuables visible in your vehicle, travel with a local if possible, and keep your session focused.

Nearby Alternatives

Barrote, the point just before Solemar along the same beachfront road, offers a different shape when it's on. Broader options in Espírito Santo include the beach breaks around Guarapari to the south, which offer more variety and a safer environment when Solemar's crowd or security situation makes it unappealing.
