New Hampshire's southern terminus delivers punchy, shifting beachbreak peaks spread across a long stretch of exposed Atlantic-facing sand. East, ESE, and SE swells funnel in cleanly when offshore westerlies blow, and the wave works at all tides, making conditions readable and reasonably predictable. Best size runs chest-high to a few feet overhead, where the sand-bottom peaks throw quick, thumping sections with both lefts and rights on offer. Intermediate to advanced surfers will feel at home here, and the crowd is genuinely thin, especially once the cold sets in. Bottom: sand. Season: September through March. Consistency: moderate, swell-dependent. Suit up properly: full winter gear, gloves, boots, and hood are not optional from late autumn through early spring, and the water temp is the primary gatekeeping mechanism that keeps lineups quiet.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

The vibe here is welcoming and the lineup stays mellow. Summer draws more bodies to the beach, and parking becomes difficult. Winter cold acts as a natural crowd filter, leaving the water to surfers willing to gear up fully. Respect the locals who surf here year-round through brutal conditions.

Access & Facilities

Summer access is tighter with seasonal parking pressure. Winter access opens up considerably. Bring everything you need: the exposed New England coastline is not forgiving when you forget a hood or forget to check the forecast. Water quality is generally clean.

Nearby Alternatives

Just across the state line, Salisbury Beach and Plum Island in Massachusetts offer similar swell-exposed beachbreak peaks and pick up comparable E and SE swell. When Seabrook is maxing out or blown out, those options are worth the short drive south.
