Hiriketiya Surf House

Hiriketiya is a horseshoe bay about 30 km east of Weligama that has rapidly become one of the most photographed surf bays in Sri Lanka. The bay breaks over a mix of sand and reef and produces rights and lefts that suit beginners and intermediates on smaller days, with a bigger right-hand wall activating as swell increases. The Surf House is one of several camps set up within walking distance of the bay, offering simple private rooms and surf packages that include morning lessons and equipment. The bay is compact, visually striking, and social in a way the larger south coast towns are not.
