A fast, technical right-hander over live coral reef near Lambaro harbour, Lambaro Rights sits on the northwestern tip of Aceh and rewards surfers who catch it on the right swell. It fires best on S to WSW swell, with WSW the most productive window, though the break is notoriously fickle about swell direction and many visiting surfers get blanked. Offshore winds blow from the NE. The wave charges at breakneck speed over shallow coral through the main section before curving into a more forgiving inside section at the end, giving a 100-200m ride. Intermediates and above only: the live coral reef and speed of the wave demand respect. Bottom: submerged reef. Season: southern hemisphere swell season, roughly May to September. Consistency: medium. Proximity to the harbour makes access easier than other Aceh reef spots, but factor in the unpredictable swell direction before committing to the trip.

The harbour proximity makes Lambaro Rights one of the more accessible reef breaks in the area, though you will need to organise your own transport from Banda Aceh. Bring water, food, and reef booties. Live coral hazard: a wipeout in the main section can cause serious cuts. Treat reef wounds promptly in this heat.
When Lambaro is flat or the swell angle is off, the Lhoknga reef system roughly 15km south holds a well-known A-Frame and an adjacent left that fire on similar swell windows. Blangujung Rights on Pulau Breueh offers a comparable fast right-hand reef experience for those willing to make the boat crossing.
