Access is straightforward: the spot sits directly in front of the Holiday Inn and Plaza las Américas on Boulevard Manuel Ávila Camacho, with stairs from the boulevard to the beach. This is a fickle, event-driven wave. At 3-5ft it gives fast open-faced rides, push it to 6-8ft under the right storm conditions and the barrel section becomes legit. Bottom: sand over structure. Season: norte and hurricane season, roughly October through February. Consistency: low, 3-5 sessions per year in good years.
Weekdays see a small, tight-knit local crew. Veracruz's surf community is not large, and most people in the water know each other. When a good swell arrives, word spreads fast and the lineup fills up quickly. Respect in the water here is transactional: give it and you'll likely get it back.
