Best swell window runs E through S (roughly 90-180 degrees), with W winds cleaning it up. Works on all tides and can hold well-overhead hurricane surf from September through December. This is a beachbreak with stumpy bottom surprises, so intermediate to advanced surfers will get the most from it, expect steep, late drops and quick tube sections rather than long open faces. When Gordons Pond is too small or blown out, Naval Jetties to the north offers longer right-hand walls and better consistency on a wider swell window. Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach provide more beginner-friendly options a short drive south.
