Tamri earns its reputation as the swell-magnet fallback for the Taghazout region, a wide beachbreak at the mouth of an oued draining banana plantations roughly 10-15 minutes south of Cap Rhir. NW swell is the sweet spot, with easterly wind going offshore and low to mid tide producing the best shape. It works from under 1ft through to double-overhead, though rips become a genuine offshore hazard past 2.5-3ft and the peaks get harder to read at size. Intermediates will enjoy the scattered a-frame peaks on a good day, beginners can find room on the inside when it's small and clean. Bottom: sand. Season: September to April. Consistency: high, rarely flat when everywhere else is. Bring a bigger board if any swell is running, and keep your car locked and valuables out of sight.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekends can see a few more faces but the beach is wide enough that the lineup rarely feels congested. Localism is rated manageable, though some community reports flag aggressive attention from kids near the roadside parking. Pay the nominal parking watch fee and don't leave anything visible in the car.

Access & Facilities

Roadside parking directly in front of the beach. No facilities on site, so bring water and food from Taghazout or Agadir. The banana plantations are the visual landmark from the road heading toward Essaouira.

Nearby Alternatives

When Tamri is onshore or maxed out, the pointbreaks around Taghazout (Anchor Point, Killers, Mysteries) are the obvious step up. Immessouane to the south suits longboarders and learners when the swell drops.
