About this camp

Macaronis Resort sits on the southern end of the Mentawai Islands, about 4–5 hours by fast boat from Padang. The resort is built around proximity to Macaronis, a left-hand reef break that produces long, rippable walls and is widely regarded as one of the most consistent waves in the archipelago. Beginners can access Fishfingers, a forgiving sand-bottom beach break a short distance from the resort, while intermediate and advanced surfers can reach Greenbush, Roxies, and a range of other reef breaks within roughly 25 miles north and south.

What makes it different

The resort sits directly adjacent to the Macaronis reef break, and all surf transfers to nearby breaks within 25 miles are included in the package at no additional charge. It is one of the few Mentawai properties that actively caters to families, non-surfers, and beginners alongside experienced surfers.

Skill level

Beginners and non-surfers can learn at the gentle beach break at Fishfingers, while intermediate and advanced surfers have direct access to the Macaronis reef and surrounding breaks. Surfers who want barrelling reef waves should have solid experience reading reef-break conditions before paddling out at the main break.
