Water temperatures run cold year-round on this stretch of the NorCal coast, so a 4/3 or thicker suit is standard most months, with booties recommended in winter.
If Moonstone is closing out, Trinidad Head and the surrounding area offer different swell exposures and wind protection worth checking. Camel Rock and other beach breaks along this stretch can fire on the same swell windows but behave differently depending on sandbar conditions.
