A beachbreak alternative to the crowded point breaks of the Sergipe coast, Hawaiizinho fires on mid to high tides with punchy peaks tucked into a rocky corner. It needs a NW to E swell in the 2-6ft range to properly light up, and SW winds keep the faces clean. Crowds thin out on weekdays, but expect company on weekends when the banks are running. Bottom: beach and rock. Season: consistent enough through the northeast Brazil swell window, best when NE trade swells pulse through. Consistency: medium. Bring a groveler or a small-wave shortboard for the typical 2-4ft range, and a step-up if a bigger NW pulse arrives.

About this break

What it's actually like

Crowd & Localism

Weekdays here are quiet, sometimes just a handful of surfers. Weekend crowds build when conditions are obvious. Localism is not a noted issue, but standard respect applies. If the corner is already packed, the longer beach sections offer uncrowded peaks to either side.

Access & Facilities

A car park is available, though facilities on site are limited. Bring your own water and snacks. No major hazards or pollution concerns are flagged. The rocky corner at low tide deserves attention when picking your paddle-out line.

Nearby Alternatives

When Hawaiizinho is flat or blown out, Titanzinho offers Fortaleza's most consistent reefbreak peaks a short drive along the coast. Praia do Futuro provides 5km of exposed beachbreak with fewer crowds than the city center options. Pont Metalica's limestone reef peaks are worth checking if quality swell is running.
