The space
Villa Mentawai sits on 90m of private beachfront along the sheltered side of a beautiful tropical island, Simakakkang, deep within the Central Mentawai region. The Villa boasts a spacious lower floor consisting of an open-plan lounge separating two huge bedrooms with multi-bed configurations of either one king and two singles, two kings or four singles, both with private ensuite’s.
A bar is built into the central lounge area, flowing onto a huge balcony boasting 180 degree ocean and tropical island views.
Upstairs, another two bedrooms offer multi-bed configurations of either a king or two singles, sharing a bathroom and access to a separate Balinese style outdoor shower.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned for your comfort and we source the majority of our energy from the sun with 23 kilowatts off solar panels.

Mentawai Islands
Mentawai Island chain has revolutionized surf travel since waves were discovered by hard core explorers in the 1990s. More perfect waves per square mile can be found off the West Coast of Sumatra than anywhere else in the world. There are 50 recognized quality breaks, including Hollow Trees, Macaronis, Rifles, and Green Bush. The breaks are isolated and spread out over 100 miles, so boats are the best way to access them. There are now many great land camps that offer both walking and speedboat access to the waves.

The location of Villa Mentawai simply cannot be beaten! Not only does it offer up a stack of world-class waves right in our back yard, it also offers great verity for all skill levels and plenty of lesser known wave’s for more chilled out surf sessions.
We’re also perfectly situated for day trips to South Sipora ft. Hollow Trees, Lances, Bintangs, and Playgrounds ft. Rifles, Kandui, Hideaways plus other less known waves.
The Waves
Getting Here
To get to Villa Mentawai you need to get a flight to Padang (PDG) in West Sumatra. You will need to travel through either Jakarta Indonesia or Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
In Padang you will take an early morning fast ferry over to the capital of the Mentawai, Tua Pejat.
The trip is normally just around 3.5 hrs and is on the very comfortable and sturdy "Mentawai Fast Ferry" From Tua Pejat you will be met by a Villa Mentawai representative and taken the short 5-minute boat ride to your own private villa in Paradise.
