Hidden Bay Resort

The Hidden Bay Resort Mentawais is located on a pristine private bay right in the middle of the 24+ waves of the Northern Mentawais. The Resort was created with a unique and innovative concept, based on the tripod: comfort, healthy and delicious meals and physical/psychological maintenance. A great place for single surfers, couples and families, here you will find from private suites to large luxury rooms and our main building offers a great place to training, recover or just relax between a surf session and for non-surfers too. All this in a family environment with a maximum capacity for 12 surfers.

The space

The Twin Suite is located downstairs at the Uma 2 Bungalow. There is a big balcony with an incredible view of the ocean.

All our accommodations, mix local style and modern comfort with Orthopedic mattresses, 400 thread count sheets, air conditioning, a mini-bar, hot water, and daily housekeeping service.

Wave Info

The resort is located in the Playgrounds area, where we have the highest diversity of good waves in the Mentawai Islands. Every wave is within a 15-minute speedboat ride from the resort and the closest one is Hideaways only 3 minutes by boat.

There is always a protected wave with an offshore wind somewhere. Our swell window is huge, from 240 SW through to 165 SE, our area gets consistently hit by a lot of swell from the Indian ocean. Our waves are the closest Mentawai waves to mainland Sumatra, which means less travel time for you to access our perfect waves.

We have waves that suit everyone from beginners to professional surfers. Our guest capacity is limited to 12 surfers, which means more waves for everybody! Every difficult wave has an alternate and easier wave nearby. This means we can divide our group by different surf levels. In addition to the huge variety of famous waves of international quality, there are still many other secrets or semi-secret spots of excellent quality in the zone which we do not share in our website!

Getting Here

Your trip begins around 07:00am on the 1st day marked on your trip schedule. Upon arrival at the city of Padang (Sumatra) on the day before the scheduled departure date of your trip and spend one night in the city of Padang. At the airport one of our representatives will meet you and take you to the hotel where you will spend the night.

The next day dawn, around 6:00am, our representative will pick you up to take you to the Mentawai fast boat which will make your journey from the city of Padang to the Resort. It’s around a 3-7 hrs trip depending on weather conditions. On your return, you should usually arrive in Padang around 18:30 hrs on the last day marked on your schedule. You must book your ticket out of Padang for after 21:00 hrs. Sometimes you will need to spend the night at Padang and take your fly on the next day.

People with CONNECTING INTERNATIONAL flights should pay EXTRA ATTENTION to the schedule and dates of the flights; If you are flying from Jakarta we recommend booking the international flight for the next day or after 23hrs on the day of your return. * We have organized our schedule in order to allow our guests to surf on the first and last day of their trip. This is another advantage we offer to our guests in order to make the most of their trip
