The Waves
West Sumbawa boasts a collection of remarkable, yet lesser-known surf spots, perfect for those at an intermediate, advanced, or expert level.
Yoyo's beach is just a short walk from Baha Baha Villas, where you'll encounter The Hook and The Wedge. These spots are known for their consistent swell, offering beautiful right-hand waves. When the swell increases, expect to find barreling sections and well-formed walls for executing big turns.
Not far off, a brief scooter journey will take you to Tropical, a delightful left-hander that keeps goofy-footed surfers entertained all day. Additionally, there's SuperSuck, a spot that truly comes alive with larger swells from the correct direction, drawing barrel enthusiasts and surfers during the dry season.
For those seeking further adventure, spots like Scar Reef, Little Bingin, Phantom, Donut, Dirty Hippie, and Limestone await a bit further afield. These areas are best accessed by car and with the guidance of one of our surf guides, as conditions can be highly dependent on the weather.

West Sumbawa
Sumbawa is located two islands east of Bali, situated in between with Lombok to the West and Komodo to the East. Super Sucks stands out as one of the premier waves in the country, coming to life with big, long-period swells from the South-East. While it may not break consistently, when it does, it offers some of the most spectacular barrels imaginable. This fast, powerful wave can reward surfers with two or three extended rides through its barrels on a good day. Another noteworthy spot in the vicinity is Scar Reef. It features long walls that align with the reef, culminating in speedy barrels towards the end. Many surfers draw parallels between it and the famed G-Land. Further south, Yoyos and Tropicals present more approachable options. Yoyos has gained recognition by being included in the World Qualifying Series (WQS), hosting annual competitions that spotlight Sumbawa on the professional surfing circuit.
