Host Fees

Hosts pay a flat service of 15%. This competitive with Airbnb or Booking.com and keeps the pricing clear for the guest.

Guest Fees

Guests are charged 3% booking fee to cover the cost of payment processing.

Payouts

Hosts can request payouts via bank transfer as soon as your balance is over $200.

Hosts pay a flat service fee of 15% of the booking subtotal. The subtotal is your nightly price plus any optional fees you charge guests, like a cleaning fee, and doesn’t include SurfTrips fees and taxes. Guests typically pay a service fee of around 3% of the booking subtotal.

So, if you’re charging $100 USD a night for a 3-night stay, your booking subtotal is $300 USD. The Host service fee, which is generally 15% of your booking subtotal ($45 USD), is deducted from your earnings, and a service fee of 3% ($9 USD) is charged to guests and included in the total price they pay. In this example:

You’d earn $255 USD. Your guest would pay $309 USD.

Yes. Services fees, cleaning fees and fees for extra guests are to guests, and the total price they’ll pay.

Yes. You can choose between instant booking or send booking request. 

Property owners can request damage deposits from guests. Deposits help cover any potential damage caused by a guest, offering some reassurance that your property will be treated respectfully. If anything goes wrong, it can be reported to our team.

SurfTrips charges each guest directly to confirm the booking. You can request a payout 24 hours after a booking is confirmed or when and when your balance is over $200. Exactly when the funds arrive in your account depends on the payout method you choose.

Payout methods—bank transfers and PayPal. You can set up your payout method in your account and change it at any time.

You can open dates on your calendar up to two years in advance. The more dates you have available, the more options guests have to choose from.

Keeping your calendar availability up to date is important to avoid cancelling reservations. Cancellations can lead to fees and other consequences for you and unpleasant experiences for guests.

Yes. With by using an ical feed you can connect to any other platform that offers an ical export feed. This includes Booking.com and Airbnb. You can also export your SurfTrips feed if you would like to import it into other platforms. The feed will be checked every hour.

As a host you will have to deal with cancellations from time to time. Your cancellation policy will be determined by you and listed on the listing. Balancing the needs of guests and business can be a delicate task. Fortunately, it is possible to offer flexibility while also protecting your interests.

Once you’ve finished creating your listing, you can open your property for bookings on our site. We will need verify your listing before you can start accepting bookings, but you can use this time to get familiar with our backend dashboard and get prepared for your first guests.
