El Pimental delivers fast, hollow beach peaks within a short drive of El Salvador's international airport, making it a legitimate first-stop or warm-up option on any Central American surf trip. SW to NW groundswells push clean peaks through a mid-to-high tide window, with offshore winds from the NE keeping faces groomed in the mornings. The wave starts producing at under 3ft and holds shape into the 6ft-plus range, when it punches hard and barrels fast over the sand. Crowds are essentially nonexistent on both weekdays and weekends, which makes it a valuable training ground for surfers working toward heavier, faster waves like Puerto Escondido. Bottom: sand. Season: consistent year-round with peak swell in wet season. Consistency: moderate to good. Bring a performance shortboard or fish and plan to be in the water at dawn before onshore winds develop.
