Punta Conejo Surf Resort

Punta Conejo Resort is the sole oceanfront, all-inclusive resort in the Salina Cruz Region, offering amenities like an oceanfront pool, spa, swim-up palapa bar, air-conditioned rooms, full-service kitchen, bilingual guides, Wi-Fi, and more. It operates year-round, with a surf season from March to October and a Canadian winter season from November to March, catering to adventure-seekers and relaxation enthusiasts. During the winter, when visiting surfers depart, it's the only all-inclusive oceanfront resort within 100 km of Salina Cruz. The climate during the surf season is hot and humid, with air temperatures in the low 90s F (32 C) and water temperatures around 80 degrees. In the winter holiday season, temperatures are more comfortable, with air temperatures in the 80s F and ocean water temperatures in the 70s. Guests should be aware of the Tehuano winds during the winter months, but the resort has designed its property and activities to minimize their impact. Regardless of the season, staying on the beach near Punta Conejo is a rewarding experience.

The Rooms

The resort offers various accommodation options, all with amenities reflecting the local decor and natural surroundings. Each room includes air conditioning, Wi-Fi, DVD/TV, ceiling fans, sitting areas, and private bathrooms.

La Escondida – Ocean Front Suite: Can accommodate up to 5 guests with twin beds, a sitting area, private bathroom, Smart TV, Apple TV, and a private patio.

El Chivo – Ocean Front Suite: Similar to La Escondida, accommodating up to 5 guests with twin beds, a sitting area, private bathroom, Smart TV, Apple TV, and a private patio.

Chipehua – Ocean Front Suite: Another suite with twin beds, a sitting area, private bathroom, Smart TV, Apple TV, and a private patio.

Colorada – Ocean Front Suite: Offers twin beds, a sitting area, private bathroom, Smart TV, Apple TV, and a private patio.

San Diego – Ocean Front Suite: Similar to the others, with twin beds, a sitting area, private bathroom, Smart TV, Apple TV, and a private patio.

Muddy’s – Apartment Suite: This suite is not oceanfront and includes a separate living room, twin beds, dining area, private bathroom, Smart TV, Apple TV, and a full-service kitchen.

Moreno – Suite: The smallest room option, with either twin beds or a double bed, private bathroom, Smart TV, Apple TV, and pastoral vista views from the front with a covered patio.

Additionally, the resort offers a full-service restaurant and bar, entertainment options such as ping pong and pool tables, oceanfront palapas, and a formal lobby lounge. It can accommodate corporate off-sites and private groups, with the option to reserve the entire resort for up to 10 guests.

Getting there

Air Travel Options to Huatulco (HUX), Mexico:

From the U.S. West Coast: Fly from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to HUX with Aeromexico. Recommended flights include Red Eye or early morning departures with one layover in Mexico City. Note that you must clear your luggage and drop it off again. If you're traveling with surfboards, you'll need to rebook upstairs at the Aeromexico Counter. Consider getting a porter to assist you.

From the U.S. East Coast: United Airlines offers flights through Houston with a direct connection to HUX. Alternatively, if Aeromexico serves your local international airport, compare flight times through Mexico City Airport.

From Canada: Air Canada and Air Transat offer direct flights from Calgary to HUX. Some other major cities with direct flights include Edmonton and Vancouver.

Upon arrival at HUX Airport, a representative from Punta Conejo Resort will greet you and provide transfer in a private Punta Conejo Resort 4x4 vehicle. The resort is approximately a 2-hour drive from the airport. During the drive, you'll be offered cold drinks, and the representative can make stops in Huatulco for tacos, shopping, or visiting secluded beaches upon request.

Once at Punta Conejo Resort, you'll immediately feel the remote and secluded atmosphere. The resort staff will assist you in getting settled and answer any questions you may have. Your trip planner will work with you to customize your daily activities, taking into account weather and surf conditions.

During the surf season, experienced guides will suggest the best spots based on swell, tides, and winds. They'll ensure you have the best chance to catch great waves, considering the conditions of the day.

Before your stay at Punta Conejo Resort ends, the guides or resort manager will arrange transportation back to HUX Airport for your departure.
